White processed sugar is addicting and it is completely unhealthy for us. Now, scientists believe that long -term sugar consumption leads to life threatening illnesses, such as diabetes and even some forms of cancer. Sugar also weakens our immune system.
Sweetening our drinks and our food with stevia is a much smarter alternative. Stevia is an all natural sugar substitute. It is rich in polyphenols which are compounds that help white blood cells produce antibodies. Stevia
has won my confidence. It is so much healthier than sugar, which experts say can weaken immune cells by 40 per cent for five straight hours.
The only down side to stevia is that some people report a mild after taste, but that is still a wonderful trade-off for better health. I will take a healthier immune system any day. I don’t enjoy being sick.
