Brahmi, also known as Bacopia monnieri, has been used in India for hundreds of years. It is an Ayurvedic form of medicine. It can be  drunk as a tea. Brahmip1050140-brahmi-leaves is also referred to as “the memory enhancer” and as “the thinking  person’s herb.”

Research studies on humans in India in 1995 have found that brahmi improves mental clarity, increases longevity, prevents senility and improves vitality and physical performance. Brahmi also has a positive effect on long and short-term memory, recall, learning and blood circulation, and also assists the lungs, kidneys and liver to function more efficiently.

There are two compounds found in brahmi which account for its’ extremely positive qualities on human health:

  • Balcoside A – assists in the release of nitric oxide, which allows the aortic veins to relax, thereby promoting the blood to flow more smoothly throughout the body.
  • Balcoside B – Nourishes the brain cells, thus  improving long and short-term memory and mental clarity.

Brahmi is an ageless herb with wonderful health benefits. It is starting to be cherished in the western hemisphere as more and more people are discovering its’ value.
